Native American Resources
A rich history exists within the Native American community in Juneau, Alaska. Southeast Alaska is the ancestral home to the Haida Nation and Tlingit Nation, who co-existed as two separate and distinct people since ancient times. Legend says parts of the Haida Gwaii people from Queen Charlotte Islands migrated here and settled. Today they live alongside with similar customs, but different languages. The common bond of these Native Americans is respect for their elders, the protection and preservation of their land and way of life, and advocating for the rights of their people. A strong sense of pride for self-governance and maintaining the legacy of their forefathers is evident in these Native American Resources in Juneau, Alaska.
